Role: Accounts Receivable/Project Revenue Accountant (Portland, OR)

Reports to: Accounting Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Project Revenue Accountant/AR Specialist to join our team at Downstream. This role requires a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and project knowledge to properly account for our revenue recognition. Duties also include project invoicing, revenue and cash forecasting and assisting with various accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

Process Revenue Recognition/WIP in software program called Vista
Work with Studio Director and Project Managers to forecast revenue for the Management Team
Project cash receipts based on project billing schedules
Generate and send out invoices and credit memos.
Ensure system posted revenue reflects the expected revenue position
Follow up on, collect, and allocate payments.
Perform account reconciliations.
Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
Generate accounts age analysis reports.
Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records.
Communicate with clients about billing discrepancies and questions.
Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash, etc.
Assist with month-end closing.
Create daily and weekly accounting reports and lead weekly invoice meeting
Expense report and travel billing
Assist Accounting Manager in various tasks: commissions, lodging payroll taxes, cash flow reports
Make Downstream better
Attention to detail is a must in this position

Work Experience & Education Requirements

Proven working experience in Accounts Receivable and Revenue Recognition.
Knowledge of general accounting principles, GAAP
Keen analytical skills and a curious mind
Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience in gathering data, compiling the proper information, and preparing financial reports.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Degree or certification in Accounting, Business Administration, or similar is preferred.

Working Hours

Hybrid Schedule - Monday to Friday (7a - 4p or 8a - 5p).
M-W in person in the (Portland downtown) office, Th-F optional work from home.
This is a full-time, exempt position

Benefits

Base Salary range $65,000 - $70,000 USD Annually (Salary ranges based on experience)
Medical/dental benefits on the first of the month after hire date.
401k with match up to 4%
10 paid Holidays
Flexible paid leave - 17 days per calendar year (pro-rated during your first year of employment). Increases after 3 years
