This is an excellent summer job for Octorara High School Students or recent graduates.
The position will run from June through August (some flexibility with start/end date is permitted for college students' school schedule).
Candidates must be in high school or recent graduates, have the ability to obtain a work permit and provide their own transportation.PAY RATE:
$12.50 per hourPURPOSE:
The student barn interns will gain valuable experience in managing, raising livestock andplants, and proper techniques for high standards of animal and plant care.Duties And Responsibilities Assist the agricultural teachers with the care of the animals at the Octorara High School livestock barn.Clean animal stalls and ensure a sanitary environment for the animals.Feed and water the animals on a daily basis.Assist with care of the vegetables grown in the high tunnel greenhouse such as tying up tomato plants, pulling weeds, picking produce and dropping off items to the Octorara Food Cupboard.Perform other duties as assigned.
