An Audiology Aide will provide supportive services in Audiology, as prescribed, directed and supervised by a licensed and certified audiologist.At Cleveland Clinic, we know what matters most.

Audiology Clinical duties, if applicablePerforms and documents listening checks of test equipment.Assist Audiologists in testing or setting up for testing.Audiology Clerical duties, if applicableSecures purchase orders through Lawsons and processes all orders (e.g.
hearing aids, earmolds, supplies) and repairs; documents all actions in patient HA files.Preforms listening checks on all new and returned hearing aids.Triages mail/phone/email requests in HAL and resolves patient/requestor needs.Maintains hearing aid database (TrakAid - TA).Interacts with vendors/suppliers/Supply Chain Management (SCM) regarding purchases/invoices/orders.Reviews statements weekly to insure all invoices are paid in timely manner at all HNI locations.Verifies accuracy of invoices at all HNI locations.Liaisons with Accounts Payable to ensure prompt and accurate payment of all audiology invoices for all HNI locations.Maintains organization the HA charts.Maintains and restocks Hearing Aid Lab (HAL) and File Room inventory of supplies, forms and patient education materials - including preparation of all patient folders (e.g., HAE, HAF, TMC, CI folders).Communicates with Section Head, Clinic Director, or HA Director and Program Manager of all actions taken.Executive Health, if applicableConducts non-diagnostic screening otoscopy .Performs puretone air conduction thresholds for patients seen in Executive Health.Records thresholds on audiogram within Epic and completes progress note which are reviewed and signed by supervising audiologist.Newborn Hearing ScreeningVerifies proper function of equipment on a daily basis and reports concerns or problems to Hearing Screening Coordinator or Clinical Engineering.Performs hearing screening on all newborn infants prior to discharge in accordance with Ohio Department of Health rules and facility protocol using appropriate objective screening method:
Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs) and/or Automated Auditory Brainstem Response (AABR).Properly prepares infant's skin, if needed and proper placement of electrodes if performing AABR.Appropriately and accurately documents required municates results and, if needed, follow up to the patient's family in a confidential and culturally appropriate manner.Provides the safe transport of newborns following hospital protocols for infant security safety including infant pletes annual training to meet requirements by the Ohio Department of Health.Maintain current Basic Life Support municates the results of the screening(s) and follow up (if needed) to the patients' family in a confidential and culturally appropriate manner.Education:
High school diplomaAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in an allied health field preferred and may offset experience requirement.Certifications:
Licensed as an Audiology Aide from the Ohio Speech and Hearing Professional Board preferred.Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) plexity of Work:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervisionMust be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actionWork Experience:
Minimum one year of experience in a hospital setting or working with patients.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to interact professionally with all levels of clinical and hospital staff, patients and families.Ability to follow direction and communicate professionally.Basic computer skills and ability to troubleshoot test equipment.Preferred Skill, Experience and Education:
Excellent organizational skills, critical thinking skills, and computer skills.Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders preferred.Physical Requirements:
Ability to read fine print; excellent manual dexterity.Ability to lift small packages up to 25 pounds.Ability to assist patients from wheelchair/chair.Personal Protective Equipment:
