Job Title: Pathology Assistant
Location: Glens Falls, NY
Shift time: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Duration: 13 weeks contract with possible extension

Job Summary:
Cambay Healthcare is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pathology Assistant to join our team. The Pathology Assistant will work under the supervision of a Pathologist, performing a variety of tasks related to the preparation and examination of pathological specimens.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens.
Prepare tissue samples for histological processing.
Perform frozen sectioning during surgical procedures.
Assist in autopsy procedures, including evisceration and organ dissection.
Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of specimens and findings.
Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, ensuring all instruments are properly cleaned and sterilized.
Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety protocols and standards.
Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
Collaborate with pathologists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Biology, Medical Technology) required; Master's degree or completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant program preferred.
Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Pathologists' Assistant (PA) Required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a pathology laboratory.
Strong knowledge of gross anatomy and pathology.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $2,700.00 - $2,916.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
