Title: DevOps Engineer

Location: Whippany, NJ

Responsibilities

Work closely with development, operations, and other multi-functional teams to streamline the software delivery process.
Ensure successful deployment of applications through effective collaboration.
Design, implement, and maintain automated deployment and configuration management systems.
Use tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or others to automate repetitive tasks.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment of software releases.
Ensure a smooth and efficient release process.
Develop and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Enable consistent and repeatable provisioning and scaling of infrastructure.
Implement monitoring and logging solutions for proactive system performance tracking.
Use tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or others.
Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain security standard methodologies in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to deploy and manage applications.
Optimize cloud resource usage for cost efficiency.
Manage and maintain version control systems (e.g., Git).
Provide support to development teams in branching, merging, and conflict resolution.
Use scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Ruby) to automate tasks and enhance the efficiency of the DevOps workflow.
Investigate and resolve issues related to the deployment and operation of applications.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to diagnose and fix problems.

Required Skills

Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Docker Certified Associate) are a plus.
Demonstrable experience in a DevOps or related role.
Background in software development, system administration, or both.
Familiarity with DevOps tools: Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and others.
Proficiency in at least one scripting language.
Experience with setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
Knowledge of infrastructure components and cloud services.
Experience with IaC tools like Terraform is desirable.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Analytical approach with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
