• The Transportation Network analyst positions primary duties will be three-fold, focusing on transportation capacity planning, problem resolution, and transportation reporting development/analysis. The analyst will monitor daily/weekly capacity of Butterballs carriers in various geographic markets and ensure carriers are meeting their daily/weekly commitments and achieving Butterballs desired service levels. The analyst will contact carriers daily as needed via phone or e-mail to try and secure additional trucks for Butterball shipments. This position will require interaction with carriers, external and internal customers with a focus on system reporting and on-time delivery. In addition, the analyst would help with distribution network ad-hoc analysis that supports future Butterball growth

• Effectively correspond with carriers as well as others on the Butterball transportation team.
• Build good relationships with carrier partners and to emphasize Butterball as being a shipper of choice.
• Work with carriers to ensure information in the transportation management system (TMS) is updated with pickup and delivery appointments as well as arrival and departure times.
• Develop metrics and analysis for weekly reports and communicate to management and carriers. Sample metrics include on-time pickup, on-time delivery, detention spend, capacity trend, flex/surge capacity %, tender acceptance %, tender expiration %, routing guide compliance.
• Measure short-lead time orders and the impact to carrier selection and spend.
• Assist with overall transportation KPI metric reporting development and analysis.
• Work with carriers on their performance and identify improvement opportunities and help implement.
• Analyze logistics activities and identify solutions to improve cost, service and/or efficiency.
• Develop reporting metrics and extract key data from the transportation management system to spreadsheets and prepare for management review.
• Develop analysis and presentation to key stakeholders including the Sr. Management and Executive team.
• Drive process improvement based upon data analysis from transportation and order systems.
• Manage and dispatch dedicated fleet assets.
• Looks for opportunities to backhaul our carriers (tours).
• Addresses issues that would affect service and /or would drive up the cost to serve.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Knowledge/Skills and Abilities
•
• Strong interpersonal communications skills both verbal and written.
• Must have excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Proficient in software applications including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of SAP and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) beneficial.
• Proficiency in development of data analysis
• Experience with Transportation Network Optimization Analysis is preferred
• Education and Experience:

• Four-year degree in supply chain management/logistics or equivalent experience is required.
• 3-5 years transportation related experience working with carriers, brokers and providers preferred
