Position Overview: The Estimator will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs for drywall and/or painting services, preparing detailed proposals, and supporting the sales team in securing new business. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work.
Perform detailed quantity take-offs for drywall and/or paint materials.
Prepare comprehensive and competitive cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and clients to develop accurate and timely proposals.
Identify and evaluate potential cost-saving opportunities.
Maintain and update pricing databases, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary project information.
Assist in negotiating contracts with clients and subcontractors.
Track and analyze project costs, budgets, and schedules to ensure estimates are aligned with actual project outcomes.
Provide support in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to project estimates.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an estimator in the drywall and paint industry.
Proficient in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift).
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes specific to drywall and painting.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
