Senior Product Analyst Flex Home/Office

Monitors and analyzes the performance of the line or book of business, provides product strategy recommendations to divisional and departmental leadership. Evaluates and tracks competitor products, pricing information and target markets. Researches competitor pricing and rating programs providing insights and analysis to the business for pricing enhancements and new products. Specializes in data analysis, programing, and dashboard building. May specialize in product management and/or product development accountabilities depending upon business need. You will report to a senior manager of product. Position Compensation Range:

Primary Accountabilities
Supports product and pricing decisions, working closely with analytics, catastrophe management, countrywide actuarial, state management, and partner management teams.
Analyzes the company's competitive position with a particular emphasis on pricing levels and product offerings relative to competitors.
Reads competitor filings, earnings calls, blogs, and insurance-related publications to monitor the market and distribute relevant actions taken by competitors.
Assists in developing reporting and database functionality for other business units to consume, maintain a robust library of all competitive information, and provide updates and in-depth analysis of new competitors and new technologies within the market.
Works collaboratively across a variety of groups and operating companies, pushing work forward and gaining buy-in internally.
Develops and maintains effective working relationships with other lines to identify product gaps and opportunities.
Works with partners in pricing/actuarial, claims, etc. to ensure product compliance and financial viability.
Produces detailed competitive research and analysis for personal lines products using a variety of information sources and tools to support decision making.
Analyzes all available data forming conclusions regarding our competitive position in the marketplace. Provides recommendations to leadership to capitalize on product offerings and geographical areas.
Provides expertise regarding how competitor actions and industry trends influences personal lines ability to meet corporate and divisional objectives. Makes recommendations to management regarding operational and product changes that may enhance our competitive position.
Stays abreast of all rate changes, rating enhancements and program changes by our competitors; researchs competitor filings, rate and rule manuals to ascertain changes made and their impact on our competitive position. Ensures analysis and reporting accuracy explaining drivers and insights relating to competitive position changes.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in actuarial science, economics, mathematics, business or a related field.
Relevant Experience:
a minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in Property & Casualty Insurance is preferred.
Code Based Language Experience:
Experience with Python, R, SQL and SQL Server Management Studio is preferred.
Software Experience:
Experience with data visualization programs like Tableau, Looker and Looker Studio preferred, intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint is required.
Cloud Tools Experience:
Experience with cloud tools such as GCP, AWS, BigQuery and GitLab preferred.
Prioritization:
A self-starter who can prioritize rapidly shifting assignments effectively.
Structured & Logical Thinking:
The ability to understand and analyze business problems and issues and determine and recommend appropriate frameworks to conduct analyses.
Analytical Rigor:
Analyze product performance, identify additional areas of research, and recommend improvements.
Powerful Communication:
The ability to communicate effectively and succinctly across a variety of media including facilitation and presenting results to management.
D emonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
Solid knowledge and understanding of customer, business industry, insurance, underwriting guidelines and risk concepts in area of expertise.
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills to review complex products, and/or lines of business.
Demonstrated experience making independent decisions.
Demonstrated experience in project management methodologies, practices, techniques and tools.
Demonstrated experience performing complex financial, actuarial or business analysis.
