Drop Zone Material Handler - 1st Shift

Nesco Resource is seeking Drop Zone Material Handlers for one of our long-term clients in Auburn Hills. This position is Monday through Friday, 6 AM - 2:30 PM, with possible overtime on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Drop Zone Material Handler is responsible for material delivery and inventory control for current and future programs. The Material Handler will utilize powered industrial equipment or walk to each station to ensure timely material flow within the plant and assembly lines. The MH will be actively engaged to meet daily customer demand and internal run-off requirements at all stages of line readiness. Reporting directly to the Materials Supervisor, you will interface with other functions such as quality, manufacturing engineering, production, and maintenance. This position places high premiums on effective teamwork, clear communication, initiative, and intelligent judgment to achieve and maintain material flow, efficiency, and quality.

ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure all workstations are properly filled according to the production schedule (Walking to each station, Using Material Carts, Tugger)
Modules Scanning, Modules Repackaging
Pack and unpack Containers, locate and put away all stock in an organized manner (Drop Zone)
Materials Handling
Scans Boxes/Pallets at the Drop zone when the Hi-lo driver brings them
Support Physical Inventory Activities
Support to Material Specialist / Drop Zone Activities
Perform 5S activities.
Other Tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

Working Experience in materials/logistics areas
Cycle count experience is preferred
Working Level Knowledge of:
Materials and Logistics
Highly Organized and Detail Oriented.
Ability to stand, walk, carry light objects, handle parts, reach with hands and arms, and lift 50 lbs.
Ability to multi-task and work with minimum supervision
Ability to work overtime as business needs dictate.
Ability to travel between manufacturing facilities as required.
Flexible and capable of adapting to change with the ability to follow work instructions.

HEALTH & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Follow safe work procedures established by the Company, and follow the OH&S directions of the head of your department or supervisor
Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety systems
Where PPE is required to control exposure to hazards in the workplace, wear and maintain the PPE as directed, as indicated in a risk assessment, or as required in OH&S procedures
Use other safety and emergency equipment provided in the workplace as directed or as required in OH&S procedures.
Assist with the preparation of risk assessments.
Before commencing work or research, a risk assessment should be conducted to identify, assess, and control the hazards associated with it. This should be conducted with other relevant staff, researchers, and supervisors.
Report OH&S problems
Report workplace hazards to the supervisor as soon as possible after they occur.
Report injury or illness arising from workplace activities using the incident/injury reporting system as soon as possible after the incident.
Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
Complete monthly H&S inspections
