Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:
Maintain a motivating environment, encouraging team member involvement, creativity, and problem solving. Directly supervise the Executive Chef, Senior Food and Beverage Manager, Food and Nutrition Manager, and Assisted Living Dining Room Manager.
Financial Management:
Meet financial targets while achieving food quality and resident service objectives.
Team Building:
Build and maintain a cohesive Food and Beverage team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, team building, and succession planning.
Culinary Excellence:
Utilize a strong culinary background to improve menu variety and consistency of quality in all kitchens. Ensure an exceptional dining experience defined by excellence in service, menu design, and creativity. Plans, facilitates, and participates in in-service training programs
Compliance and Safety:
Practice and observe all safety and sanitation standards, infection control, and loss prevention programs. Support the Food and Nutrition Manager and Executive Chef in meeting all State and Federal guidelines. Ensures menu compliance with resident dietary restrictions. Develops a nutritional program for our independent living residents.
Resident Engagement:
Meet regularly with the Resident Food and Dining Committee and individual residents to gather feedback on dining programs.
Operational Efficiency:
Provide vision, leadership, planning, project coordination, and management for cost-effective department development while facilitating efficient operations. This includes preparing, reviewing, and updating the budget with input from all key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business with an emphasis on food service management/hospitality preferred.
Experience:
Combination of minimum 10 years leadership/managerial experience in retirement or healthcare communities with multiple restaurant operations, and fine dining restaurant experience. Culinary education and certification required. Education in Dietetics and Nutrition required.
Certifications:
Food Handler card within 30 days and ServeSafe certification within 90 days.
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), strong knowledge of point of sale (POS) systems and senior living technologies, effective communication, and problem-solving skills. Effective problem solving skills, a positive attitude, and self motivated personality will do well in this role. Must be able to use software for menu planning, recipe generation, and meal tracking. Must possess a strong knowledge of POS systems and senior living technologies.
