The Maintenance Electrician for our Metairie, LA location is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within an industrial work environment, troubleshooting/diagnosing PLC's, schematics, electrical problems, performing preventative maintenance, general maintenance (as needed), and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment within an industrial setting, including motors, VFD's, transformers, generators, and lighting systems
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems using testing equipment and hand tools as needed
Perform preventative maintenance and general maintenance(as needed) on electrical and mechanical equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity
Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to determine the layout of electrical systems and equipment Working with 480v, 220v and 110v
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes, and maintain accurate records of work performed
Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to identify and address electrical issues that may impact production or safety
Stay up-to-date with the latest electrical technologies and techniques to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Ensures that work meets all applicable Health and Safety
Standard Operating Procedures
Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned

What does it take to work at Safety-Kleen, a Clean Harbors Company?

HS Diploma, GED or higher education preferred
3-5 years' experience and/or combination experience and/or education preferred
Experience with 480v, 220v, 110v and three phase
Works safely and familiar with lock out tag out procedures.
PLC and schematics experience through education and/or professional experience
Work well in a team
Communicate well with all levels of an organization
Must be able to stand, stoop, climb and lift up to 50lbs
Ability to work under adverse conditions (heat & cold)
