This job provides general administrative and clerical office support to the Patient Accounts Customer Service call center; assumes responsibility for ensuring the organization of documents via inbound and outbound mail including correspondence, patient itemized statements and resolution letters; appropriately recognizes and maintains the confidentiality of all patient information; assumes responsibility for scanning all documents used in customer service; assumes responsibility for improving patient satisfaction through consistently representing Ochsner Health System professionally and according to the job duties detailed below; cross-trainings in order to support multiple functions across all patient and payer types; and multi-tasks and participates in special projects as assigned by leadership.
Education
Required -High School diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
Required -1 year related hospital, clinic, medical office, business services/revenue cycle, front line registration, financial counseling, banking, hotel, retail and/or customer service related position
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Good analytical skills
Good organizational skills and detailed orientated
Good time management skills and self directed
Good interpersonal skills
Job Duties
• Maintains the quality and integrity of inbound and outbound documents related to customer service
• Receives and sorts departmental mail ensuring same day delivery to appropriate party
• Researches and responds to document retrieval requests
• Provides general office support by performing other such duties as assigned by a member of the leadership team
• Provides assistance to the call center by taking voice messages as needed during busy periods
