Production Planner

Salary range is based on experience: 75K - 95K (based on educated and related experience)

Responsibilities:

Responsible for generating a daily/weekly production schedule that balances manufacturing capacity, operating efficiencies, and inventory levels based on a collaborative Sales, Inventory and Operations Plan

Conduct daily MRP runs and issue jobs for manufacturing assembly lines

Create, update and maintain schedules and work with production to meet customer demand and production targets while optimizing resource utilization.

Work with Purchasing team to escalate material shortages and assist with developing appropriate corrective actions.

Communicate scheduling conflicts with stakeholders and quickly resolve them as they arise.

Coordinate parts within plant and escalate shortages.

Provide order status updates for released jobs to customers service teams.

Lead Kaizens and continuous improvement projects to improve planning processes.

Work with Production/Supply Chain teams to anticipate potential bottlenecks, disruptions, or quality issues and develop contingency plans to minimize their impact on production schedules.

Daily respond to email expedites or cancellations.

Generate regular reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production planning and adherence to production schedules.

Requirements

BS/BA is preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related technical field or an equivalent of 7+ years of production planning / scheduling experience from a manufacturing environment

5+ years related experience in production scheduling, planning, MRP role; prefer experience within a metals, machining, casting, CNC, assembly or related environment

Self-managed, self-directed with strong planning and inventory management skills

Well versed in planning methodologies such as: Kanban, MRP, Min/Max, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), routing and related

Must have experience with MRP or ERP and MS Excel preferred
