Senior Industrial Engineer

Family-owned consumer products manufacturer with a proven track record of over 15+ years success is hiring a Senior Industrial Engineer to assist with moving into a new facility

The need an engineer to work with the owner directly and oversee all aspects of the project

Salary is 90K - 110K (depending on education and experience)

Summary:

Oversee a 1-2-year project of moving a facility and setting up / organizing the operation

Design layouts for work cells, office space, develops ways to increase productivity, maximize efficiency and manage human capital and floor space more effectively .

Primary responsibilities:

Design layout of equipment and workspace.

Manage outside contractors for building and electrical needs

Work with Supply Chain Manager to organize inventory and warehouse

Utilizes sound management principles and Lean concepts with the intent of improving process flows, reducing operational expenses, and improving productivity.

Analyze and challenge existing procedures in areas of responsibility throughout the facilities, making recommendations, and working with the operational management to integrate solutions.

Provides guidance and support to operational management by identifying process improvement opportunities, supporting the company's themes, and helping to manage the annual plan.

Develops implements and improves processes, equipment, and work activities, to meet and exceed the company's safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

Additional responsibilities include facility manpower planning, productivity planning, machine capacity analysis, process effectiveness analysis, project management, expansion needs analysis, material flow analysis, developing and maintaining engineered time standards, value stream mapping, process flow and line balancing.

Provide other consulting ideas as needed by the owner

Requirements:

BS/BA is required. Ideally Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Industrial Technology or similar

10+ years of industrial engineering experience required in a manufacturing setting

Must have experience setting up a new facility, organizing a facility, moving a facility and improving the flow of a facility

Solution oriented and strong project management skills

Experience reading blueprints, drawings and schematics

Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand, read, write, and speak English required.

Six-sigma experience, training or certification preferred.

Capability to multitask and manage multiple projects

Experience working with outside contractors, assist with negotiation, and bids

AutoCAD is a plus

Open to working as a consultant for 1-2 years
