Radiological Controls Field Manager

DescriptionIdaho National Laboratory is hiring a Radiological Controls Field Manager to work in our Environment, Safety, Health and Quality department.
Our team works onsite with a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) facility in Idaho with every Friday off.You will report to the MFC Radiological Control Manager and you will manage all daily radiological activities within the nuclear and radiological facility assigned to you.
Provide oversight, leadership and management of MFC RadCon DepartmentResponsibilities Include:
Responsible for overall management and safe operation of radiological activities conducted at MFC.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Institutionalize an environment and culture which motivates management and staff to commit to a safe, secure and radiologically compliant operation.
Obtain and integrate feedback from employees concerning safety, health, quality and environmental issues for specific activities and lessons learned.
Provide leadership and direction for the day to day activities of RadCon Supervisors, technical staff and Radiological Control Technicians (HPTs).
Provide organizational leadership for staff regarding work assignments, work performance and guidance.
Provide daily interface with facility line management to ensure program success.Develop and institutionalize a culture where radiological controls are followed by the entire MFC workforce as a partnership in reaching successful mission accomplishment.
Ensure RadCon program compliance by providing daily guidance to line management, radiological workers and Radiological Controls personnel.Provide support to the Radiological Controls organization and facility line management through procedure and work package review to ensure compliant radiological controls, conduct of research and conduct of operations.
Participate in all aspects of facility and organization assessment programs in the capacity of Lead Radiological Control Program assessor.Provide strategic direction in the development of performance indicators.
Monitor and evaluate performance metrics to identify areas needing improvement and identify adverse trends.
Lead in conducting self-assessment for all assigned stewardship responsibilities consistent with laboratory assessment guidance.
Provide leadership in the implementation of corrective action plans and paths to excellence.Participate in the strategic development of a robust human capital plan for the RadCon Department located at MFC.
Delegate significant responsibilities and translate human capital goals into specific goals, provide appropriate level of direction and hold department supervisors accountable for staffing levels and development effectiveness, performance management and recognition of assigned staff.
Provide appropriate mentoring to staff for the leadership and technical skills needed to meet performance milestones and incentive achievements.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years relevant experience or Advanced Degree & 3 years relevant experience, or 15 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree.This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Target pay range for this position is ($137,205 - $203,855).
The full pay range is ( $103,032 - $262,740).
