Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain a clinical learning environment in Ambulatory Internal Medicine Teach, supervise and evaluate post-graduate medicine residents and medical students Assess learner competencies, advise, assist in remediation Support ACGME competencies and JABSOM graduation objectives May serve as Firm Advisor for UH Department of Medicine and UH Internal Medicine Residency Program at Queen's Medical Center

Associate Professor Duties and Responsibilities
Same as Assistant Professor but with increased responsibility for administering programs in education, clinical education, and research; and with less supervision and oversight.
Minimum Qualifications:
Assistant Professor:
MD/DO degree or equivalent medical degree from a medical or osteopathic school of recognized standing by date of hire. Current certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or American Board of Specialties or its equivalent, recertification when appropriate. Valid Hawaii medical license by date of hire. Demonstrated ability in teaching and patient care. Ability to serve as a role model for students and junior colleagues. Evidence of effective research, scholarly activity, or clinical administration is required. Familiarity with curriculum development and evaluation, provider of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), Accredited Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and American Council of Continuing Medical Education (ACME). Excellent communication skills, written and spoken.

Associate Professor:
Same as Assistant Professor plus: Four years at rank of Assistant professor or equivalent. Evidence of skill in tutoring and delivery of lectures and conferences/colloquia, and expertise as a resource person in chosen field. Clear recognition as a scholar/clinician among peers at the local, regional, and/or national levels.

Desirable Qualifications :
Demonstrated experience with curriculum development and evaluation Demonstrated ability to obtain and manage extramural funding Evidence of effective research, scholarly activity, or clinical administration. Basic Life Support and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification. Familiarity with LCME requirements and Continuing Medical Education. Eligibility to qualify with local Healthcare Systems.
