As the Chief of Staff to the CEO, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives in a fast-paced and evolving education landscape. You will be expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including Cengage Group sponsors and Board members, as well as the Executive Team. You will ensure that the CEOs time is focused on the highest priority activities and you play a key role in the continued success of the business.

*What you'll do here:*

+ Develop and implement a process for ensuring that all strategic investment projects are prioritized, tracked, discussed and implemented in collaboration with business leaders

+ Develop and drive the management team calendar and agenda, ensuring meetings are well scoped, materials are distributed and decisions and action items are documented and completed

+ Collaborate with the CEO and EA to ensure that time and attention are focused on the key priorities; attend meetings or complete tasks on behalf of the CEO as appropriate

+ Own delivery of key materials (e.g., Board meeting documents) at direction of CEO and other members of the management team

+ Conduct industry research and make suggestions/recommendations for areas where the CEO should focus

+ Own and drive Cengage-wide initiatives to support the CEO (e.g., cross-BU programs, employee experience initiatives, business scenario planning and modeling, etc.)

*Skills you'll need here:*

+ Bachelor's degree preferred; or related experience.

+ Interest or experience in the education industry

+ Demonstrated success in a similar role: strong project management, analytical and communications skills; experience in management consulting a plus

+ Proven success in delivering projects and programs without direct authority over all teams

+ Ability and desire to operate in a fast- moving, complex environment requiring strong emotional intelligence, self- motivation, and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-changing industry.

+ Expertise in running high-functioning meetings, facilitating productive conversations, efficiently working towards decisions, and balancing advocacy and inquiry

+ Demonstrated tenacity and flexibility, with the ability to adjust based on feedback and input

+ Exceptional relationship-building skills, capable of earning trust across diverse groups.

+ Ability to navigate and lead others through ambiguous situations.

+ Thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

+ Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining a focus on the big picture.

+ Outstanding written communication skills, with the ability to distill critical insights from large volumes of information into coherent presentations.

+ Excellent oral presentation skills.

+ Ability to travel approximately 10% of calendar year

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

$163,100.00 - $260,900.00 USD
