*Position Responsibilities:

The Surg Tech Lead acts as a clinical leader and resource in an Inova Operating Room (OR).
Supports Inova's mission and strategic plans.
Assists OR Service Leader to ensures unit compliance with quality, safety, regulatory requirements, and JCAHO standards. Demonstrates superior knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques in the role of surgical technologist.
Assists the OR Service Leader as a primary resource for the surgical specialty.
Assists the OR Service Leader in analyzing data, ensuring team adherence to performance standards, and improving processes continuously.
Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others.
Provides mentoring to OR team.
Works collaboratively and has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines.
Uses and demonstrates clinical expertise in the assessment of staff learning needs, capabilities, and readiness.
Demonstrates leadership traits and supporting behavioral competencies.
Serves as primary liaison and information resource for specialty.
Oversees the provision of therapeutic care in a holistic, evidence-based environment which produces excellent patient care with optimal patient outcomes.
Supports the OR Service Leader's goals.
Interacts with and contributes to the professional growth of Surg Tech team members, colleagues, and others.
Ensures efficient functioning of the specialty service and achievement of optimal patient outcomes.

*Position Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
3 years' experience as a Surgical Technologist
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) via NCCT
BLS via AHA required
Surgical Technologist registration required
Must be eligible for Surgical Technologist registration via Commonwealth of Virginia at time of hire. Registration must be completed within 6 months of hire.
