Team Lead Data Software Engineer - Motion Planning

The Data Insight Team is focused on developing tools for large-scale data analysis to identify issues in the stack and compare autonomous performance with human performance. This aims to discover new opportunities for improvement and ODD expansion. You will work closely with Motion Planning, Metrics Engine, and Data Platform teams to establish pipelines and metrics to measure performance.

You will have leadership opportunities to build tools for large-scale data analysis while working directly with consumers, formulating projects to enhance component performance. You will own the novel Automated Scene Insight tool and expand its scope to influence developments in the Motion Planning, Controls, Perception, Prediction teams. You will also have the opportunity to define new projects, collaborating closely with other team leads to understand the areas of impact.

What you'll be doing:

Setting up AWS infrastructure to processing and analyzing data at scale
Building complex software systems and collaborating with cross-functional machine learning and robotics teams to influence design for scalability, testability, flexibility and cost efficiency
Leading the team's core project on-road performance analysis, and autonomy regression detection and prevention
Guiding and mentoring team members to cultivate a culture of product-focused engineering, research, and development
Working with motivated teammates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

What we're looking for:

Strong Python skills and practices
5+ years of experience developing large applications for data processing
Strong software design skills with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A strong sense of ownership: Being able to drive projects from conception to production
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics or related field

Data pipeline/engineering
Machine Learning and/or Robotics

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors including but not limited to specific skills, experience and expertise, role location, certifications, licenses, and business needs. Salary Range

$168,000-$225,000 USD
