SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Safety Trainer - DOJO Instructor is responsible and oversees the day-to-day shift operations, safety staff, and enforces safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and visitors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides support and customer service to everyone
SME for safety and will train and prepare all new safety and WLP new hires on the safety policies and procedures
Supports safety and operations through building audits, mentoring, employee involvement, observations (Behavior Based Safety) and training
Motivates, sets priorities, delegates, and develops safety staff
Responds to all incidents pertaining to any safety and security concerns
Coordinates with external emergency response personnel when incidents occur
Drives a safe work environment by supporting the safety culture initiatives through PDCA and WIN team participation
Coaches safety staff in becoming top performers and clearly communicates company goals and objectives
Follows and enforces best practices while ensuring compliance with federal, state and county agencies and regulations
Develops and maintains strong communication with all employees
Strives for zero incidents
Supports HOSHIN goals and activities
Observes and enforces all Good Manufacturing Practices as required
Supports company health and wellness initiatives
Will work alternating and rotating shifts
Weekend and Holiday work required
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Trainer level on OSHA Regulations
Able to perform PDCA problem solving and execute implementation plans
Implements health and safety educational programs and activities to improve awareness of safety and protection procedures
Understands technical skills necessary for all tasks
Advanced Security Tactics and Skills
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum
4 years' experience in law enforcement, safety, fire prevention, environmental health, industrial hygiene or related field, which includes four years of supervisory experience
Communication skills in English and Spanish - oral & written
Computer skills - Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Internet
Pay range: $84,000 - $97,000 / yr and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skill & experience.

LEADERSHIP
• Provides direction and recommendations on employee performance, discipline and hiring processes. Supervises safety trainers, safety representatives and at times operations employees.

Executes tracking systems to monitor impact of specific safety initiatives
Implements countermeasures plans to completion
Demonstrates focus on tasks and details, manages time well to execute duties effectively
