POSITION TITLE: Elementary School Teacher (2024-2025) Grades K-4
QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold proper certification through the Arkansas Department of
Education
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and/or other Supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 days with benefits provided according to Siloam Springs
Board Policies
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Participate in curriculum review and/or design.
* Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
* Implement a variety of evidence based instructional strategies to engage students with the essential learning standards.
* Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
* Effectively use and analyze data to adjust instruction and/or support student needs.
* Adjust instruction within the classroom (Tier 1) to meet the needs of all students, reteaching or extending when needed.
* Monitor and assess student progress frequently, using both formative and summative assessments, and provide feedback.
* Provide student progress reports as required.
* Refer students for alternative services as provided by the District (ESL, Special Education, GT, etc.).
* Maintain consistent and timely parent communication using appropriate structures.
* Effectively implement district initiatives.
* Work collaboratively with the department (PLC) and grade level teachers.
* Meet or exceed professional responsibilities and professional behavior expectations.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
* Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
* Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
* Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
* Serve on committees as assigned.
* Remain current on instructional practices in education.
* Participate in district staff development.
