Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for an Inpatient Vet Assistant to work in the Intermediate Care (IMC), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Emergency Room (ER) section of our Bailey Small Animal Teaching Hospital. The individual in this position will work directly with board-certified emergency and critical care veterinarians and rotating intern doctors to help facilitate quality care and patient flow through the IMC, ICU, and ER.

This is a monthly rotating swing shift position.
Mon - Thurs 4:00 pm - 2:00 am; Fri - Sun 3:00 pm - 2:00 am

Minimum Qualifications
Depending upon a combination of education and experience, the finalist selected for this position will be hired as a Veterinary Assistant - Inpatient and assigned levels II or III.

Level II: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital environment.

Level III: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital environment.

Substitutions allowed for Education:
Indicated education is required; no substitutions allowed.

Substitutions allowed for Experience:
When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
