As the Underwriting Technical Lead (Delivery) you'll be responsible for leading key underwriting changes and projects.
You'll be working with team members and key stakeholders to ensure good customer and business outcomes, whilst ensuring successful completion of deliverables.
The AAI Underwriting team is focused on delivering a high quality, low-cost outcomes that earns the trust of every New Zealander - ultimately ensuring the end-customer is at the heart of everything you do.
You will have excellent analytical, written, verbal and presentation skills and a proven-track record of establishing trusted partnerships with your business stakeholders.
The ability to exercise sound judgment and problem solve in a complex environment is essential.
You will be outcomes focused, highly organised with strong attention to detail skills, and demonstrate a high level of proactivity, accountability, and professionalism.

What else will you be doing? Driving the delivery of underwriting reviews and projects.
Conveying the underwriting vision and motivating the project teams/squads for delivery.
Leading a cross functional matrixed team/squad and creating a vibrant culture.
Engaging with key stakeholders to ensure seamless change impacts.
Keeper of project artefacts and provides regular progress updates to underwriting leadership.
Being the point of delivery escalation for underwriting analyst and key stakeholders.
Support maturity uplift in underwriting delivery practice across the organisation.
To shine in the role, we're looking for:
Minimum of five years' experience in a large financial, insurance or professional services business.
Leadership experience in project and programme management is preferred.
A strong work ethic with a positive attitude and outlook.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
An understanding of business continuity planning.
A drive to deliver an exceptional customer experience in every interaction.
Proven skills in adaptability and resiliency, with a solutions focused mindset.
Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills.
Knowledge of delivery methodologies, e.
g.
, Agile, Kanban, PMBOK.
Preferred.
Ability to understand & translate technical terms to the business.
Ability to communicate the underwriting vision, initiatives and progress to all levels.
