About the role:
Due to phenomenal business growth, we have an opportunity for 2 Furniture Service Technicians (Full-time) to join the team at Wiri.You will be offered a competitive pay of $23.15 - $28 / hour and will be required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
As a Furniture Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing in warehouse and on-site furniture & lounge repair and maintenance services to our valued customers.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the longevity and satisfaction of our products.
This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent craftsmanship, and a customer-focused approach.
Day-to-day duties and responsibilities:
Responsible for diagnosing and repairing issues with furniture & lounges products, including structural, cosmetic, and upholstery problems.
Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair processes and provide maintenance tips.
Fixing Mechanical Components in the warehouse and at customer's place by analyzing work orders, and sample parts to understand the specifications for repairing or refinishing furniture items, especially lounges.
Determine the necessary tools and equipment for each task, guaranteeing their proper configuration and operational status.
Proficiently operating machinery to carry out precise tasks, including cutting, shaping, and sanding lounge & furniture components.
Employ techniques such as Solvents, and Paint Strippers to eliminate old finishes from worn or damaged lounge furniture.
Collect company vehicles and tools from the Wiri Distribution Centre and perform maintenance services as scheduled.
Responsible for ensuring that repaired products pass Quality Check by ensuring the overall structural integrity and stability of the piece.
Carry out report the outcome of service calls to the Customer Care Team Ensure the service vehicle is stocked with necessary tools and supplies.
Maintain accurate records of services rendered and parts used.
Carry out repairs, inspections, troubleshoot issues, as required.
Work diligently and up to Nick Scali standards.
We are looking for someone who has:
Minimum of 18 months of relevant work experience in diagnosing and repairing furniture and lounge faults Knowledge in any warehouse management system preferred ; Training can be provided Proficiency in using hand tools and repair equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
A valid Forklift Operator's Certificate Flexible to work overtime on an ad hoc basis if required Should be available to work on Saturdays (if required).
