Production Supervisor

Company

Our client is an Irish, family-owned fresh food company established more than 30 years ago who specialise in both traded and value-add fresh food products. They have a number of locations around Munster employing over 60 people with a turnover of approximately €50 mil. They are a premium end of the market food business leading the way in terms of new modern facilities and GMP standards.

The Role

The Production Supervisor will assist with supervising, directing, and coordinating production related activity as directed by Production and Operations Manager. The Production Supervisor is a key member of the team and will learn how to provide leadership to the production team by fostering an environment of trust and open communications, developing future talent, and ensuring achievement of production safety and quality.

Responsibilities will be to help ensure that the production process flows smoothly, and daily production goals are met.

Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor shall be responsible for the quality and quantity of product produced which includes but is not limited to, the following:
• The achievement of stated production targets
• Coordinating the processes and people involved in the production, storage, refrigeration and loading of products manufactured on-their shift.
• Responsible for immediately reporting all work related injuries and equipment failures to manager.
• Assisting in the training, scheduling and staffing of the shift.
• Must be familiar with and responsible for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), company rules, policies and procedures, Quality Control standards, regulations and EPA guidelines.
• Will be responsible for the start-up, finish-up and clean-up of shift.
• Maintain and troubleshoot for production and packaging related issues and secure the assistance of Maintenance, Quality, or Inventory departments, as required.

Requirements
• 3+ years production line experience from the food or pharma industries and ideally within a GMP environment.
• Working knowledge of certified environmental management systems and accreditations, for example ISO 14001, Origin Green, Repak.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and people leadership skills.
• In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards.
• Working knowledge of conducting environmental and system audits.
• Ability to use relevant MS packages including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work under pressure and to achieve realistic targets and deadlines.
• A keen eye for detail and a results driven approach.
• Conscientious and responsible.

Remuneration

The salary will be in the general range of €35,000-€40,000.
