Developing Windows-based applications and services for the GE Vernova VISOR product range utilizing OS APIs and C+/C# programming languages to be ran within an industrial IT infrastructure.Working in sprints of small, self-motivated teams using agile methods, collaborating with Product Leadership to determine customer needs and transforming those customer needs into next generation control and communication products that are cloud connected.Being involved in all phases of software development from requirements definition, implementation, quality control and testing to product deployment.Writing technical documentation including user manuals, software design and test specifications.Working closely with other teams within the company and adhering to industry standards to ensure products meet required specifications.Attending meetings with internal customers for the purpose of capturing requirements, creating mock-ups and prototypes, feasibility studies and technical advisory.
We are looking for a committed and professional individual with:
Working experience writing multi-threaded object-oriented software in C+ and/or C#.A relevant degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field of study, OR significant relevant experience gained in a professional engineering environment.An understanding of cyber security on Windows-deployed software.Familiarity with modern commercial software development paradigms (microservices, testing in isolation, integration).Good written and verbal communication skills.
What will make you stand out:
Proficiency in both C+ and C#.Knowledge of containerized deployments on Windows and Linux.DevOps experience building pipelines using GitHub actions or similar (CI/CD)Experience of RAD / TDD / Agile development processes.Experience with computer networks, Ethernet, LANs, TCP/IP and other protocols.Ability to create structured documentation suitable for Customer use.Knowledge of our industry, products and platforms.
