Our client is currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join their team in PEI.
As the successful candidate you will play a key role in their accounting department, supporting various accounting functions and gaining valuable hands-on experience.
This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional eager to build a solid foundation in accounting within a dynamic organization.
Your responsibilities will include analyzing general ledger accounts, preparing weekly and periodic financial reporting, account reconciliations and journal entries.
Additionally, you will assist in the preparation of the annual tax packages and the opportunity to contribute to audits and other special accounting projects, helping to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
You hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, coupled with a strong grasp of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is essential, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are crucial for success in this role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills will also be beneficial as you interact with colleagues and stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications include enrollment in the CPA designation program or a desire to pursue CPA certification, experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP), and previous internship or work experience in accounting or finance.
