Role overview
Responsible to provide coverage and support during the weekend when it comes to the Abinitio Platform making sure the platform remains healthy. Abinitio Platform support including troubleshooting and escalation to vendor, validating that the respective volumes and files have appropriate space and remediate any issues that may become an issue. The successful candidate must be able to acquire Protected B Clearance.
What you'll do
• Run the Model Office environment by monitoring availability and taking a comprehensive view of system health.
• Improve reliability quality and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions.
• Measure and optimize system performance with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward getting ahead of customer needs and innovating for continual improvement.
• Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications.
• Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
• Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
• Participate in system design consulting platform management and capacity planning.
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation.
• Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objective
What you bring to the role
• Proven experience (8+ years) supporting and administering the Ab-Initio ETL platform, including troubleshooting and escalation to vendors.
• Familiarity with Unix, Windows, and Linux server environments.
• Proficiency in integrating and building software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
• Demonstrated success in measuring and optimizing system performance.
• Skill in providing primary operational support and engineering for large-scale distributed software applications.
• Experience gathering and analyzing metrics from operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
• Ability to balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives.
• Availability to work on weekends to ensure the continued health of the Ab-Initio platform.
Working arrangements
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.
