Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Production Engineer .

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. Qualifications:

• Education: Accredited Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Ocean, and Naval Architectural Engineering or similar.

o Registration with or eligible for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia as an E.I.T. or Professional Engineer (P.Eng).

• Experience: 2-4 years' experience in a complex manufacturing environment - shipbuilding experience will be an 'asset.'

• Experience with manufacturing process assessment and development.

• Experience creating production or process documentation (Manufacturing Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and similar).

• Experience technical author of build procedures - writing, managing, and maintaining.

• Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in English, both orally and in writing.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products

• Ability to manage complex projects.

• Ability to manage complex stakeholders within different functions and effectively manage conflicting requirements.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

• Report writing / Technical authoring.

• Capability review through manufacturing & design data.

• Provide assistance to improve production procedures, processes and controls.
