Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of Natural and Physical Sciences at Shepherd University invites applications for an in-person visiting assistant professor position in organic chemistry. Candidates should possess a master's degree or PhD in chemistry with a preference towards expertise in organic, medicinal, or polymer chemistry. Teaching responsibilities will include organic chemistry and lab as well as science-majors intro chemistry courses. Research supervision of undergraduate projects, while not required, is strongly encouraged and some instrumental maintenance may be required. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level, postdoctoral experience, and/or experience mentoring undergraduate research students.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in chemistry with experience in organic chemistry

Preferred Qualifications

PhD in chemistry with a preference towards expertise in organic, medicinal, or polymer chemistry
