Top rated facility in Bridgeport, WV in need of a PACU RN for a 13-week travel assignment.
13 weeks - 12 hour Nights; 12 hr nights, Thurs, Fri, Sat - 36GH - ACLS, BLS, PALS - Unit PACU Miscellaneous Info & Examples if Needed

Nurse:Patient Ratios 0
Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?) BLS, ACLS, PALS
Common Cases
Experience or 'Must have' skills PACU experience preferred, ICU or ED also helpful
EMR Epic
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? We have Team Leads. They do not take assignments, but help to cover lunches.
Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios No PCA
RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) We do have the occasional vent pt., as well as BiPap/Cpap. RT sets up initial and rounds as they would on floor or unit.
ICU patients - do they recover in PACU? Yes. If there are no ICU beds available, ICU pts come to PACU. It is also common for us to hold ICU pts overnight.
RNs read strips? We do EKG and have pts on central monitor. We review EKG and consult physician for official read.
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) No self scheduling. We have designated day and night shift. All FTE work 3 12 hour shifts. We have a few positions that are blocked and others that are variable.
Weeknight/Call Requirements At this time there is a call schedule. Each employee has assigned weekend call, usually once every 3 months. On call time is Saturday and Sunday, 7a-7p. At this time, no night call coverage, we have staff at night except on Sunday.

Holiday/Call Requirements Holiday call is on an assigned rotation. No more than one major holiday a year.
What is call response time? 60 minutes
Floating Requirements At this time our regular PACU staff do not float to other units. We just hired 3 FP RN that are shared between pre and post. These positions are filled and will not be a requirement of any traveling nurse. Do PACU RN's also do PreOp?
Scrub Color/Dress Code At UHC surgical services scrubs are provided. Each employee gets a certain number of credits. Scrubs are retrieved daily from a vending machine, and returned at end of day in return bin.
Unit/Department specific orientation For FTE we have an orientation process of 8-12 weeks. As a travel RN this will be modified to fit their needs.
