Description:
The Solar Crew Foreman is responsible for managing the lead installers and solar installation for 2-4 crews.
They will work in the field on a weekly basis.
As the main point of contact for lead installers, this person should be fully competent in all aspects of solar installation.
This includes OSHA and safety practices, roof installations, ground mount installations, and commissioning.
This person should be able to lead a diverse team in an efficient manner and have the ability to train new installers on all aspects of installation.Essential Job Functions:
Lead and manage up to four installation crews in the branchCollaborate with Construction Manager on employee reviews, compensation, and corrective action for the respective installation crewsWork with installation crews in the field to maintain company goals for install capacityTrain new installers on installation practices and safety standardsReview projects before installation to ensure potential issues are mitigatedWork on roofs, ladders, crawlspaces, attics and other residential and commercial areasImplement quality control checks with each installation crewInteract with clients in a respectful mannerAccurately upload information to CRMProficient in all aspects of roof and ground-mount solar PV systemsProficient in NEC requirements for solar installation and system designProficient in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting systems and componentsAbility to read schematics and follow technical installation instructionsKeep up to date with code requirements and system installationComply with company policies and proceduresEnforce all company and OSHA safety policiesCertification Required:
Obtain OSHA 10 safety training (course provided by employer)Obtain 18 Hour Solar PV Boot Camp through HeatSpring (course provided by employer)Obtain 40 hour NABCEP course certification (course provided by employer) and work towards NABCEP certificationRequirements:
Minimum 2 years experience as a solar installer or in the solar industryMinimum 1 year experience as a lead installerExtensive knowledge of PV equipment and installationBe comfortable climbing a ladder and working on a roofBe comfortable with working outside in all weather conditionsHave strong mechanical aptitudeMaintain company toolsAbility to lift up to 50lbsHigh attention to detail and qualityStrong communication and interpersonal skillsManagement or leadership experience preferredExperience with roof work and general carpentry preferredAbility to maintain professional attitudeAbility to maintain company toolsProficient with hand and power toolsAbility to read blueprints and schematicsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs repetitivelyAbility to climb ladders and work on roofs up to a 45 degree pitchValid US driver's license and clean driving recordCompensation details:
