Summary

You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Mission Support Directorate of COMMANDER UNDERSEA SURVEILLANCE.

Duties

You will manage, monitor, and coordinate the execution of the Undersea Surveillance Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Program.
You will inspect and clearly identify deficiencies in the logistics process and develop corrective action plans.
You will execute configuration validations to ensure that logistics elements which may impact test, operation, maintenance, and support of systems are in place.
You will formulate, recommend, coordinate, and administer plans and procedures for processing required supply and maintenance data to support
components and equipment at subordinate commands.
You will utilize shore based/shipboard supply procedures to ensure supply support is maintained for all components and equipment.

Requirements Conditions of Employment

Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing an integrated logistics support program to identify deficiencies in logistics management processes and recommend corrective actions for the support of life cycle management of components and equipment.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

OR

Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree

OR

Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
