Description This position is responsible for the direction and supervision of the maintenance and repair of the Convention Center.
This position is responsible for monitoring, review, implement and maintain procedures and practices for the operation and maintenance of the facilities plumbing, mechanical and HVAC systems.
This position is subject to being on call and does not have a set schedule.
The schedule depends on the events at the Convention Center.
Our facility is open 365 days a year and the schedule will vary.
Summary of Duties Will oversee the staffing of the maintenance department including the development of the payroll and operational budget.
This position directs the maintenance and repair of the building, grounds, and equipment.
Directs and supervises the clean up of the building.
The individual in this position will provide technical assistance as needed in various areas.
Performs various personnel related functions.
Monitor the heat, light and power usage to minimize peak utility demand factors.
Oversee the energy management systems.
Maintain all hardware, locks, and security systems.
The duties include supervising the completion of work orders.
Maintain a preventative maintenance program and procedures.
Attends meetings for event planning, direct and supervise paid parking, assist with setups, move-in, move-out and safety.
Prepares and maintains annual operations budget.
Minimum Qualifications Must have thorough knowledge and experience in maintenance and construction trades including plumbing and electrical systems, carpentry, heating and air conditioning, commercial refrigeration, electronic control applications, centrifugal chiller systems, natural gas and propane appliances, etc.EPA Certification for Refrigerant Use and Recovery is highly preferred.
Also preferred Energy Management Certification (EMC) and Building Operations Certifications level I and II.
Possession of a valid TN driver's license and a forklift license or the ability to obtain one is required.Five (5) years of responsible supervisory/management experience.
Individuals shall possess knowledge and skill in the application of the principles and methods of public venue management.
Knowledge of the business practices applicable to the operational management of a large-scale exhibition facility.

The mobility to work and visit on the site with clients and workers is required.
