• Summary of Job:
•
Collect information, record data and estimate the cost for all Large Construction Plumbing projects on which the company places bids. Process includes completing plan analysis, developing materials list, bid take off, bidding and interface with sales department.
• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes but are not limited to)
•
• Perform takeoff of all plumbing systems for job estimates (counting all parts and pieces required to build the job)
• Provide preliminary estimates for planning purposes and detailed itemized estimates based on final plans and specifications
• Review data to determine material and labor requirements and develop itemized lists
• Ensure pricing for all parts and pieces is correct from various vendors and subcontractors
• Revises estimates as requested
• Consult with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes and discuss project specifications and resolve issues
• Review all aspects of job bids with management before bids are submitted
• Ability to handle stress and job demands.
• Cooperatively work with others.
• Education and Experience Required:
•
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of experience with plumbing/mechanical estimation
• In-depth knowledge of construction as well as plumbing/mechanical systems - Field experience is preferred
• A working familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and ability to be trained in use of the Company-specific applications and software
• Autobid Mechanical (formerly QuickPen) experience a plus
• Skills and Abilities Required:
•
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good problem solving ability and analytical skills
• Adept in mathematics
• Ability to manage the high stress of tight deadlines and the responsibility of accurately forecasting the budget for a project
• Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
