Overview:

Nyberg's ACE is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Part-Time Utility Sales Associate & Propane Fill Technician. This role combines excellent customer service skills with technical proficiency in propane filling operations. As a vital member of our hardware store, you will assist customers with their utility needs, offer product recommendations, and ensure their propane tanks are filled safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Customer Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, understanding their needs, and offering assistance with product selection and recommendations.
Product Knowledge: Develop a thorough understanding of our utility and hardware product inventory, including tools, equipment, and accessories.
Propane Filling: Safely and accurately fill propane tanks for customers according to company procedures and safety regulations.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on propane filling equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
Inventory Management: Monitor propane levels and coordinate with management to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines when handling propane and operating filling equipment to ensure the safety of customers and staff.
Cash Handling: Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash, credit/debit, and other payment methods.
Store Maintenance: Assist with general store maintenance tasks, including cleaning, organizing shelves, and restocking inventory as needed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
Technical aptitude and ability to learn propane filling procedures and equipment operation.
Strong communication skills and ability to interact positively with customers and colleagues.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and compliance.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

Experience

Formal retail experience preferred. Knowledge of tools, hardware highly preferred.

Physical Demands

Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs) and climbing, on occasion.
