This position is for a Design Engineer to join a growing aerospace team.
As an important part of the Engineering team, you will actively be providing critical value to our customers by performing design analyses to ensure the fit, form, and function of aerospace parts are maintained.
This role follows Engineering Standard Work to drive the part design process to closure and meet all design requirements.
This is considered a hybrid working position
Primary Responsibilities
Perform engineering design analyses such as tolerance stacks, hand calculations, etc.
to evaluate the fit, form, and function of a part, while balancing manufacturing and cost constraints.
Use CAD modeling and drafting to further examine design feasibility, predominantly NX Unigraphics
Write final design reports, summarizing the engineering analyses conducted, the final conclusions, and obtaining customer approval.
Leverage Teamcenter to track the project from start to finish, track engineering process compliance, obtain approvals, and store CAD models and all project documentation
Work with other internal and customer engineering departments and disciplines to ensure the repair is acceptable and all possible impacts are considered.
Collaborate to obtain dispositions and approvals from other departments, as required.
Create and deliver presentations at various required gate reviews, summarizing the analysis plan, the results, and final engineering recommendations.
Generate templates, document lessons-learned, develop tools, and support the creation of training presentations to enable repeatable, standardized results amongst the rest of the design team
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to current engineering processes, tools, trainings, etc.
Update status reports, present project status to customers, and work with LTTS project management to ensure productive and consistent customer communication.
Understand and adhere to all export control regulations.
Travel locally onsite to the customer facility several days per week as needed, and comply with all customer site requirements.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
5+ year(s) of relevant experience
Experience working with NX Unigraphics and Teamcenter
Experience with 2D drafting
Experience working through the design process on Gas Turbine Engines
Outstanding communication and technical writing skills
Outstanding customer interfacing skills
Must be a U.S.
