- Processes and ships research samples according to protocol specific requirements. (70%)
- Follows quality control procedures to prepare testing trays for the next day's clinical research studies (5%)
- Serves as Research Laboratory Educator for DCRUand Clinical Research Unit study teams. (5%)
- Assists with preparation and quality control processes for laboratory protocol start-up. (10%)
- Performs regular maintenance, monitoring and quality control of laboratory equipment (5%)
- Performs other duties as assigned to maintain quality in the laboratory and assist the laboratory supervisor. (5%)

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- Bachelor's Degree required in biology, chemistry Required or
- Other related degree or experience (i.e. Medical Technologist MT(ASCP) or LMT(ASCP)) Required
- Prior laboratory experience Preferred and
- Experience in a team setting desirable. Preferred
- Ability to prioritize the work of multiple projects. Required
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize time sensitive responsibilities. Required
- Ability to understand and communicate sample processing requirements to others. Required
- Able to work independently on multiple tasks and manage time effectively. Required
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills. Required
- Computer skills : Microsoft Excel and Word. Required
- Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment, including micropipette, laboratory balance and centrifuge Required
- Certification in Human Subjects Protection (CITI) and DOT/IATA shipping certification Required
