The Role at a Glance

We are excited to bring on a Technical Lead / Sr. Developer to our Enterprise Web Platform organization.

The Enterprise Web Platform organization supports the design, development, implementation and ongoing administration of key capabilities supporting Lincoln Financial Group's secure website - identity and access management, site registration and login, web experience and content management, cache and search capabilities, and core services to drive user profile, web preferences and access delegation.

As a Technical Lead / Sr. Developer in this organization, you will be responsible for guiding the implementation of the solution architecture within the scope of your team's work. Along with your own assignments, you will also support the individual engineers on the team by promoting good engineering practices, role-modeling effective code reviews, and answering technical questions.

What you'll be doing

• Analyzes, designs, codes, debugs, integrates and tests complex software application solutions for systems.

• Investigates and resolves complex problems including providing support for Production systems in a timely manner - includes potential for off-hours support requirements.

• Provides subject matter expertise and direction to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.

• Communicates effectively with internal stakeholders and management.

• Serves as an escalation point for issue resolution.

• Provide a roadmap to the team for implementing improved software engineering practices for higher code quality and working towards best in-class engineering practices (e.g., continuous integration, automated deployment).

• Partners with internal stakeholders to ensure that systems are designed, developed and implemented from a business point of view.

• Assesses and measures solution design impacts on IT infrastructure capacity, application architecture standards, future maintenance/support needs, and bottom line cost-benefits in consultation with appropriate internal stakeholders.

• Provides direction to development teams in areas of project scheduling, technical direction and application development standards.

• Provides input on the development of project plans, test plans and implementation plans including determining estimates on time frames, needed resources and budgets.

• Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

• Provides expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business.

• Identifies potential application solutions by understanding complex business/technical problems and opportunities.

• Proactively identifies problems and presents/develops complex solutions - identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.

• Provides subject matter expertise and direction to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.

• Communicates effectively with internal stakeholders and management.

• Serves as an escalation point for issue resolution.

• Demonstrate a learning mindset by contiguously cross-training on new tools and technologies.

What we're looking for

Must-haves:

• 7 - 10+ Years of experience in application development that directly aligns with the specific technology proficiency required for this position:

• Java

• Spring Boot

• Angular

• JavaScript

• HTML5

• CSS3

• Amazon Web Services (S3, CloudFront, CloudFormation, ALB, SG, KMS, ECS, EC2, Lambda, cdk, Route 53, VPC, Secrets Manager, IAM, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, ACM, SQS, SNS, Kinesis Firehouse)

• 4 Year/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)

• Proven track record as a strong collaborator and communicator

• Experience in Agile infrastructure, environments, and deployment strategies / technologies to drive efficient working practices and DevOps

• Experiences with code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, continuous deployment, highly scalable applications, application security

Nice-to-haves:

Pay Range: $90,300 - $164,700

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretio.
