Associate Director Operations

Overview:

Lupin is comprised of a fast growing, innovative and robust team of manufacturing, Research and Development and commercial divisions. Together these entities make up the generic and branded U.S. business. Lupin has a significant generic pipeline, and a branded focus on women's health. Our first Research and Development facility in the US is located in Coral Springs, Florida which focuses on generic and branded orally inhaled and nasal drug products. Somerset, New Jersey is home to one of Fifteen commercial manufacturing sites globally and the only commercial manufacturing facility in the United States for Lupin, as well as additional Research and Development teams. Responsibilities:

The Associate Director, Operations reports to the Vice President of Operations & Site Head and is responsible for providing leadership and management for the execution of the operational objectives within all dosage form manufacturing departments (solid, liquid, and semi-solid).

Partner with project management, supply chain QA, and QC to effectively plan and execute all projects in manufacturing

Lead, foster and develop a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing within the company's manufacturing team (Granulation, Compression/Encapsulation, Coating) with the goal of meeting or exceeding company goals and objectives; emphasis on quality, cost reductions and productivity improvements

Maintain a streamlined manufacturing process; ensure readiness of equipment, human, and other resources per forecast schedules

Play a key role in the training of staff including effective performance reviews to create and maintain a supportive and trusting relationship with all Supervisors and Operators

Demonstrate and ensure strict adherence to GMP guidelines in all direct manufacturing practices throughout the Somerset site

Directly oversee Production Supervisors on multiple shifts

Support the Senior Director as necessary in leading the annual budgeting process to support business objectives

Leadership of people to implement change, understand consequences and obtain commitment through coaching, training, and clear objective setting to meet the site's short and long term objectives

Directly oversee and develop Production Supervisors to be key leaders on the front lines

Build and sustain employee engagement by creating a culture of efficient execution and an environment in which individuals and teams can excel and continuously improve

Support the Company Safety Program to ensure a safe and suitable work environment for all employees, vendors, suppliers and visitors.

Meet all requirements mandated by the Occupational Safety and Health Standards

Qualifications:

Bachelors or Master's Degree in a Scientific or Engineering field

12+ Years of overall expereince with 8+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing in leadership / management role

Experience managing teams with emphasis on development and mentorship

Demonstrated record of working effectively with Quality Systems, Finance, Engineering and R&D departments

Working knowledge of 6 Sigma/Lean Methodologies

Experience with SAP or other ERP system preferred

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of the position generally include: standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, talking and hearing. In some circumstances, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and crawling may apply. This position may require lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally. Generally work is performed in a manufacturing environment.
