As part of the Civil Group, the Civil Engineer assists the planning, design and plan production for general civil engineering on a wide variety of projects which may include site civil design, rough & precise grading, dredging, drainage design, utility design (sewer, water, & storm drain).

Duties and responsibilities:

- Assist and supports designs construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models.
- Assist the preparation of engineering design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs, and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data.
- Supports the analysis of project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs.
- Creates feasibility study by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data.
- Assist in the production of engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules.
- Confirms adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress, inspecting construction site, and verifying calculations and placements.
- Supports fulfills project requirements by training and guiding operators.
- Researches and assists in complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions.
- Maintains project database by writing computer programs, entering data, and completing backups.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, required
- EIT required, PE preferred
- 2 to 4 years of experience as a civil engineer, preferably with experience in 3D modeling, site layout, stormwater, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems
- Experience using the following programs:
- AutoCAD
- MicroStation
- Civil3D
- SWMM
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Availability and willingness to travel
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
