KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interacts and effectively communicates with team members
- Participates in authoring select work scopes
- Grows and maintains strong network of owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and vendors
- Understands Value Engineering/Value Management process and relation to/impact on multiple building components
- Participates in Request for Proposal process
- Participates in design meetings and assists with overall project coordination/schedule
- Participates in one-on-one sales interviews (trades and clients)
- Leads estimating efforts for all size projects at all stages (Concept, Schematic Design, Design Development, etc.) and lump sum bid projects for majority of Barton Malow Builders business plan markets
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent professional experience
- 8 years' experience in construction estimating preferred
- Experience in developing and implementing value engineering solutions to drive down project costs for the Owner while maintaining a high level of construction quality.
- Working knowledge of trades: scope, time frames, field execution and potential risks/exposures
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge about estimating processes and delivery method
