- Our client, a global leader in Commercial Real Estate and Facilities Management is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Technician due to business growth in the Data Center practice. This full time role will work onsite in Shoreview, MN, pays $35 per hour and works third shift hours 7pm-7am (Either Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday). This role contains an ample vacation plan and a strong benefit package.
The key to this role is utilization of Mechanical and Electrical skills to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs in a Data Center/Critical Environment operation. This role:- Assist with daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance.
- Ensure site environmental conditions providing a safe work environment.
- React to Building Management System alarms, and complete emergency repairs as needed.
- Work with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Alert management if subcontractor performance doesn't meet all requirements per the Master Service Agreement.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
- Check BMS for running and alarm conditions and respond to HVAC-related client problems.
- Building walkthroughs, taking meter readings from UPS, PDU's and utilities.
- Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects.
- Delivers oversight of electrical and mechanical systems, including but not limited to: Universal Power Supply (UPS) systems, generators, chillers, Electrical Distribution, HVAC systems, Building Management Systems (BMS) systems, and CMMS Work Dispatching.
- 2+ years experience in either the Mechanical or Electrical trade.
- Experience working in a Data Center environment
- Knowledge of emergency response/standby/call out activities and protocols
- Knowledge of Critical Facility and Data Center equipment and components including UPS, PDU, STS, EG, CRAC, CRAH
- Understanding of 24/7/365 Data Center environments, and the working restrictions applicable to such environments.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
- Basic math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
