Key Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day payroll operations to deliver payroll timely and accurately in compliance with Federal and state laws
Manage the payroll processing for multi-state employees (salary and hourly employees)
Understand payroll strategies and deliver recommendations for improving payroll processes
Ensure internal controls are implemented, operational, documented and monitored
Attention to detail with accuracy and ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high quality work
Process disbursements by initiating wire transfers, electronic payments, and manual checks
Manage the timely resolution of customer issues including handling customer escalations, perform and document
Root cause Analysis and implement remedial procedures to close gaps identified
Work cross-functionally with Accounting/Finance, IT, Legal and Operations teams for items related to payroll, payroll taxes, W2, state registrations, and compliance
Requirements
5+ years experience in Payroll
Workday Payroll system experience preferred
Hands-on mentality, self-motivated and detail-oriented
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Able to lead and be effective in a hybrid workplace
