Position Purpose:
The Wastewater Operations & Maintenance Technician I provides day-to-day monitoring at the wastewater treatment plant and (13) pump stations.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operates equipment manually and through instrument panels, computer terminals and programmable logic control units associated with wastewater facilities.
- Works safely in a team-oriented environment.
- Performs daily rounds, pump station checks and solids handling duties as necessary.
- Carries on-call cell phone every 6 weeks and is responsible for off hours emergency alarms.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in Wastewater Treatment preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to utilize CMMS (Job Cal Plus) and HACH WIMS systems.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Valid Driver's License.
- Must have the ability to obtain a MA Grade 3M Wastewater License within 12 months from date of hire.
