FT, 36 Hours Days 6am-630pm Performs, under minimal supervision, routine, and specialized testing on patient specimens to obtain information used in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.Key Responsibilities:
Obtains and processes specimen collection for laboratory testing according to department/section policy and procedures, collection of nasal swabs.
Verifies accuracy of test specimen before testing.Evaluates patient situation and specimen appropriateness to check for possible source error, inconsistencies, and to take corrective action according to predetermined criteria.Consistently practices universal pletes duties in a time efficient manner, knows how to prioritize STAT orders using the STAT priority protocol, urgent orders, scheduled orders and outpatients.Successful in 95% of the venipunctures.Responds appropriately to calls.
Arrives at the area requesting bloodwork within 10 minutes.Performs all office functions, which may include registering patients.Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of phlebotomy course with diploma preferred.Experience:
Prior experience working as a phlebotomist or in a related healthcare role preferred.Benefits:
