Staff Accountant

The purpose of the Staff Accountant is to provide accounting support to achieve department and corporate goals and objectives. Responsibilities include processing settlements, balancing entries, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations.

Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Prepare journal entries and close books monthly
• Review financial statements
• Assist with audit preparation
• Prepare bank reconciliations
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations
• Review accounts payable and receivable
• Respond to vendor and/or customer inquiries and resolve discrepancies
• Oversee year-end form 1099 reporting
• Produce additional reports as necessary

• Other duties as assigned, or any reasonable request from any member of management
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to grasp objects; reach with hands and arms; balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch; speak or listen. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

About You:

General:
• Due to state regulations, qualified candidates for this position must be able to pass a background check - certain criminal convictions may disqualify candidates based on state marijuana licensing regulations.

Education/Experience:
• 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Must possess a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Experience working with accounting software, Sage Intacct Accounting System preferred
• Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Effective interpersonal skills, a customer-service focus, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
• Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, discreet, resourceful, and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Ability to initiate and follow through on work independently
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to meet assigned deadlines
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities
