Position Title Telephone System Coordinator FLSA Non-Exempt Department Information Technology Center Job Summary
Xavier University of Louisiana is accepting applications for the position of Telephone Systems Coordinator. Provide a full range of telephone switchboard duties, including transferring calls and relaying messages. Assists with clerical, technical and student printing. May also provide reporting and/or taping of incoming telephone calls that may be a threat to stakeholders. AA/EOE
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma
• Basic understanding of troubleshooting telecommunications systems
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent speaking voice and love for helping others
• Superb customer service skills
• Knowledge of switchboards and telephone systems
Preferred Qualifications
• Conflict resolution prowess with clients needed
• Must have the ability to work with people at every level of the organization from entry-level to upper management

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Courteously and efficiently answers all incoming calls and connects callers with the correct extension.
• Takes and relays messages in an accurate and timely manner.
• Being cognizant of academic calendar and major campus events, especially those that are public events.
• Assist internal users when experiencing problems dialing or making outgoing calls
• Performs operator functions including connecting and transferring calls; instructing users on telephone procedures; and reporting telephone and equipment malfunctions to the appropriate party.
• Provides a pleasant and helpful phone contact for callers.
• Performs clerical duties as assigned to maintain workflow in the department.
• Assist with data review and retrieval and review.
• Statistical analysis pertaining to data collected from incoming switchboard system.
• Assist in maintaining monthly reports of Student printing Software (WEPA)
