Positions are located at Parsons State Hospital, days/hours may vary. A negative drug screen is required as a condition of employment.

All employees are expected to work in a harmonious and cooperative fashion with other staff to provide efficient and effective customer service: to use free time as available to assist other staff in the completion of work assignments and perform other tasks as needed; to contribute to a positive work environment through a positive, helpful, courteous demeanor towards staff, customers and the general public; and to adhere to appropriate standards of conduct regarding the use of leave, reports to work on time and in the designated fashion.

Medication Team LPN assumes a vital role within the hospital structure. Responsible for giving medications and performing treatments as prescribed by a physician. This position may also relieve staff on the hospital and care for residents that are on the medical/surgical unit due to acute/chronic illness, injuries, because of behavior problems or for the need of supervised medication adjustments.

Parsons State Hospital is funded in part by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and is subject to requirements bestowed by Federal and State levels of government conditions of participation.

Qualifications:

LPN: Licensed to practice as a Licensed Practical (LPN) with the State of Kansas.

LPN Sr. License to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Kansas at the time of hire and six months of experience in practical nursing.

Staff who operates a motor vehicle must possess a valid Kansas driver's license.

Positions in this class require that at the time of appointment the selected candidate must take and pass a drug screening test approved by the Division of Personnel Services. Persons hired must also pass a law enforcement security clearance in compliance with policies of the Department of Aging and Disability Services.
