- Performs and participates in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment
- Inspects all equipment and instruments for proper function and/or damage and reports to the appropriate person
- Demonstrates proper use of the ultrasonic cleaner
- Demonstrates proper use of PPE equipment during decontamination/cleaning process
- Performs other duties as assigned or required
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Central Processing background and experience are required
- Central Processing Technologist Certification is preferred
- Able to stand, walk, sit, squat, pull, push, and lift over 50 pounds
- Must be flexible with hours
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
